Install Application X Shockwave Flash Ubuntu Rating: 3,4/5 5440 reviews The mime fix used to work for me - but on a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04.1 and Chrome 60, it didn't work anymore. So after I tried that and did more googling, I found a note about Chrome's new 'Flash sunset' / ask before running settings. But Mozilla Firefox, which is the default web browser on Ubuntu 18.04, does not include flash player by default. There are a couple of flash player plugins available for Ubuntu 18.04, But adobe-flashplugin is one that works for all web browsers including Firefox, chromium, Opera and etc.
/.mozilla/plugins directory in home folder. /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins (Recommended).
For 64 bit systems, /usr/lib64/mozilla/pluginsSo you can place plugin in any of the above mentioned folders. Option 3 is recomended.
Because flash player will be installed to all users. If you choose Option 2, then for that user only plugin will be installed.Copy libflashplayer.so to plugin directoryOnce you decide where to place plugin, then just run below command to copy libflashplayer.so to plugin directory. Here I am copying it to /usr/lib/mozilla/pluginssudo cp libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/That's it.Now restart the firefox.Check adobe flash player is installed or not?Just open in firefox, You will find libflashplayer.so in that page as a installed plugin for MIME type application/x-shockwave-flash as shown below.
